-There is now an Albion Diplomatic Feed! It is here to inform you of all updates as they happen, no more waiting around for long-winded Foreign Updates! (But we’ll still be doing those in some capacity, don’t worry.)
-Chief Knight 7Deaths, in a night of merry cavorting, recorded himself singing karaoke with friends in a bar. It was all the rage in our Town Square, going so far as to influence one crazy local to get others to follow suit. What far reaching effects will this have? Will Albion become a region of crazed, half-drunk karaoke singers? Chief Knight 7Deaths has already been back to the bar, maybe we’ll soon see all the local haunts of every Albioneer?
-Amongst other things our Chief Knight has been up to, he has been updating and motivating the region at large real horrorshow. (for those who don’t dig on “A Clockwork Orange”, that basically means he’s doing it alot and well.)
-Albion once experimented with the well-known Mixlr internet radio app. But now our Round Table has an official broadcast that was met with some success!
-Do you like Epic Dark Fantasy? How about Roleplay? How about people named “Plaguelord”? If you answered yes to all, or at the very least two, of those things: check out our very well written RP “Demesene”. I’d explain it, but you don’t have to take my word for it!
-GC By-Elections have been held. Christopher Bishop & Mysty Saxton ran against each other. Mysty won out and everyone felt good for Mysty! -Albion’s Halloween Festivities were/are a big success. If you missed out, don’t worry! We can scare you into submission next year with our audio introductions and well-crafted RPs.

-The previously mentioned Demesene roleplay is still going strong. Seriously, skim it if you haven’t already. Super well-made! -There is a 12th Amendment to Shire Law III allowing City-States in Albion to nominate A Chief Knight (and Vice Knight!). How this will affect the political intrigue of the region is still up for debate as this news is so fresh it hasn’t even been signed into extra-official law yet! -Tumultuous times in Albion! Notable member Bert has resigned all positions and citizenship, the family of Struenhof (of which Bert was a part) has decided to vacate the region as well. How will the power-vacuum be filled? Who will step up to fill the shoes that Bert has left unfilled and hanging from powerlines in the street? Only time will tell. -In better news, Albion City-State Brightwall is in the midst of choosing a new revolutionary council AND sheriff! Some have stepped up to the role, others needed to be goaded into it. Why not stop by and usurp some of that delicious power for yourself? Or enact meaningful reform and legislation? Either way, we’d love to see you! -Local Curmudgeon 7-5 has been caught singing for the Queen of Albion! soundcloud.com/coolas-kim-deal/jlondonnskaraWill anyone step up to out-sing said local curmudgeon and crooner? Maybe 7Deaths, who has many karaoke songs under his belt? Or some unforeseeable newcomer, riding into town without a name or backstory? Maybe it will be someone reading this?

-A new day in Albion, folks! As of Dec. 3rd the very first Chief/Vice Knight elections will be held. After some deliberation; 2 candidates have stepped forth from Brightwall and ShaleFields, Cad & Olde Delaware, both prominent movers and shakers of Albion. Cad, having the distinction of being a long time Knight Foriegn (that’s my direct superior, fyi), is excited to take the full reigns of power (if he can win the election against…?) His proposed Vice Chief Knight, Olde Delaware, came into this region and hit the ground running. Whilst still “Fresh off the boat” he was elected into one of Albion’s highest offices, even taking control of his city-state! Who will rise to challenge these formidable candidates? Will any duo stand firm in the face of potentially defaulted power? Visit Albion to find out. -The RAL helped out with the invasion of Johorne recently, so, that’s kinda cool. It was an occupation which went well and no feelings were hurt in the long run. If you feel as though your feelings were hurt, please PM your local Albion Diplomat to console you. -Prominent local citizen, 7Deaths, moved recently and didn’t sprain anything during the move. We all offer our heartfelt congratulations to him! - We’ve seen an uptick in new blood coming in. After the leavings of some members/entities in Albion, this is a welcome infusion of life-force. Here’s to you, new guys! -Our local Arch-Magus (Calvin Coolidge) has called to the community to help him respond to an...interesting article in his school paper. Check it out here: w11.zetaboards.com/The_Realm_of_Albion/topic/30093154/1/#new

Thank you so much! I do hope yours wasn't too heated, nothing quite like an election to get friends turning on each other (at least during election season) haha.

Well, we must say we did witness some fireworks, but they were natural in the circumstances.

~~~:::~~~-Former Warden Palatine of Brightwall, Lynneiah, has resigned her position in a formal topic. She stated her citizenship as forfeit as well and that she was moving to greener pastures. We all wish ol’ Lynn the best and god speed! -The Chief & Vice Knight Elections have concluded. And with only the two original candidates having been nominated, there wasn’t so much an election as there was an appointment! Congratulations to Cad & Olde Delaware. Here’s to you making Albion great again! -Local guy-who-never-changes-his-avatar-anymore 7-5 has called for a revolution in the Albion City-State of Brightwall. No plans or initiatives were spoken on in his call to arms for revolution and so no one is quite certain what he’s shooting for. But, given that it’s the guy who made this ( soundcloud.com/user-422594675) it’s sure to be interesting! -Queen MagentaFairy has appointed power-player Seven Deaths as King of Albion after some months of them being married. He accepted the position with gusto and many a discussion has been had about how we can make Albion the best region ever! Our congratulations to the new king! And our anticipation goes out to his new ideas that he’ll tell us about whenever he tells us about them! -The Grand Council Elections have concluded! Notable Albion Citizens Vaclav Vinograd, Satya Romefeller, Mysty Saxton and Those_Idiots were lifted to the prominent positions of Grand Councilmen/women. Congrats to all who won! -Speaking of the newly elected GC; Those_Idiots has begun crowdsourcing plans to up recruitment and RMB activity. So far, no real proposals have come up. But, seeing as how Those_Idioits began crowdsourcing just this evening, that's not really surprising. What big initiatives and plans will come up? Only time (and the crowd) will tell. ~~~:::~~~
~~~:::~~~-The King of Albion has announced many changes in direction for the region, turning it into a roleplay focused area. His Majesty, 7Deaths announced that doing “Actual NS stuff” would be “voluntary” (or at least not the focus of what draws people to the region from now on). -With this came a radical transformation of the forums to reflect this new focus. With the main sections being dedicated entirely to this roleplay-heavy theme. All NationStates-related activities have been shoved to the bottom of the boards. This makes local 7-5 very sad. -The last major change worth noting in this vein is the transfer of the once prominent City-States from political entity to a purely RP one. Local Albioneers who once boasted certain coloured names to denote City-State affiliation are all now lumped together again under a vaguely brownish-bronze colour to denote general citizenship. This is not the case on the Discord channel, where you can still see everybody segregated according to which CS they were forced into choosing before the reforms. -An Albion citizen has been seen posting a picture of himself imitating Rock Legend and LadyKiller, Gene Simmons. Why he has done this, no one can say for certain. But what is apparent is that he has an exceedingly large tongue indeed. -Last month, longtime Diplomat “Ambassador Halo” decided to apply for (and was granted) citizenship in Albion. It is good to see a stalwart Diplomat like Halo being impressed enough with Albion to want to be a part of it. Welcome to Albion, Halo! I hope the month-long wait in greeting isn’t insulting to you! -In the same vein, The Allied States recently sent over a new Diplomat (“Regionia”) from their region. Regionia’s choice in avatar (a grimacing Trump pointing RIGHT.AT.YOU!) is a little unsettling, but it is good to see more regions sending active Diplomats to our fair Realm. -Local firearm enthusiast Olde Delaware was seen on our Discord channel asking if anyone was selling an FN-FAL for him to purchase. He knows it’s a longshot asking your average geeky NS-er, but he claimed to have been asking everyone anyways so it was “worth a shot” (pun intended?). Shoot him a line (pun intended) if you or someone you know has one for sale. -Unbeknownst to anyone else on the boards, because no posts have been made to this effect, Deputy Esquire 7-5 laments that no one has sung for the Queen in quite some time. He has resolved to fix this issue but wishes others would follow suit because it’s nice bonding with people over a shared activity. ~~~:::~~~

ALERT / ALERT / ALERT I'm really surprised to see how little coverage this has been receiving from more conservative and traditional outlets: Francis has (once again) unilaterally taken control of the Knights of Malta and reorganized them by fiat. The decree is fascinating for what it says, what it does not say, what it implies, and most of all, the authoritarianism and its supportive rhetoric (of course, it's all about "unity," even though everything Francis has done with and towards and against the Knights has been incredibly divisive). # # # # # DECREE FOR THE SOVEREIGN MILITARY HOSPITALLER ORDER OF ST. JOHN OF JERUSALEM, RHODES AND MALTA (S.M.O.M.) The Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta has always enjoyed special protection from the Apostolic See. The Roman Pontiffs on numerous occasions – starting with Pope Paschal II, who with the Bull Pie postulatio voluntatis approved this Order, ensuring its protection and granting it rights and privileges – have intervened to affirm identity, to maintain its operation, to help overcome crises, as well as to guarantee the existence and development of the Jerusalem Order, also in its prerogatives of sovereignty in the international arena. According to the Judgment of 24 January 1953, issued by the Tribunal of Cardinals established on 10 December 1951 with the chirograph of my predecessor Pope Pius XII, of venerable memory, the "prerogatives inherent in the Order [...] as a subject of international law [...], which are proper to sovereignty, [...] do not, however, constitute in the Order that complex of powers and prerogatives, which is proper to sovereign entities in the full sense of the word". In fact, the Order is "a religious Order, approved by the Holy See [...]. In addition to the sanctification of its members, it also pursues religious, charitable and welfare ends". In addition, "The two qualities of sovereign Order and religious Order [...] they are intimately connected to each other. The quality of the Institution as a sovereign Order is functional, that is, directed to ensuring the attainment of the ends of the Order itself and its development in the world" (Acta Apostolicae Sedis 45 [1953], 765-767). Therefore, being a religious Order, it depends, in its various articulations, on the Holy See. With paternal solicitude and care I have followed the order's journey in recent years, appreciating the works carried out in various parts of the world, also thanks to the generous contribution of Members and Volunteers, and also noting the need to initiate a profound spiritual, moral and institutional renewal of the whole Order, especially and not only of the Members of the First Class, but also of those of the Second Class. To this end, I have entrusted to my Special Delegate, Cardinal Silvano Maria Tomasi, c.s., this important work of reform, as well as the revision of the Constitutional Charter and the Melitense Code and the preparation of the Extraordinary General Chapter. Many steps have been taken, but just as many obstacles and difficulties encountered along the way. After listening and dialoguing with various representatives of the Order, the time has come to complete the process of renewal that has begun, in fidelity to the original charism. To protect the unity and greater good of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Rhodes and Malta: PROMULGATION the new Constitutional Charter and the related Melitense Code, approved by me, ordering its immediate entry into force, and DECREE 1. The revocation of the High Offices; 2. the dissolution of the current Sovereign Council; 3. the constitution of a provisional Sovereign Council, consisting of the following members: - H.E. Fra' Emmanuel Rousseau - Grand Commander - H.E. Riccardo Paternò di Montecupo - Grand Chancellor - H.E. Fra' Alessandro de Franciscis - Grand Hospitaller - H.E. Fabrizio Colonna - Receiver of the Comun Tesoro; and from: - H.E. Fra' Roberto Viazzo - H.E. Fra' Richard Wolff - H.E. Fra' John Eidinow - H.E. Fra' João Augusto Esquivel Freire de Andrade - H.E. Fra' Mathieu Dupont - H.E. Antonio Zanardi Landi - H.E. Michael Grace - H.E. Francis Joseph McCarthy - H.E. Mariano Hugo Windisch-Graetz; 4. the convocation of the Extraordinary General Chapter for 25 January 2023, the feast of the Conversion of Saint Paul, which will take place in compliance with the new Regulations approved by me. The Extraordinary General Chapter will be prepared by my Special Delegate and the Lieutenant of the Grand Master, assisted by the Sovereign Provisional Council; I confirm all the faculties attributed in the past to my Special Delegate until the conclusion of the Extraordinary General Chapter, which will be co-presided over by him and by the Lieutenant of the Grand Master. This, notwithstanding any rule or provision of law to the contrary, as well as any privilege or custom, even noteworthy, that may be contrary to my decision. Finally, I order that this Decree enter into force today and that it be notified to the entire Order. From the Vatican, 3 September 2022 FRANCIS Pope Francis overhauls Order of Malta
